Open World
created for my game design class, we were to create an open world scene that "looks aesthetic", i used this as a way to try of some things i have been planning for a while, mainly the sun shadows and the use of value to guide the eyes. i worked really hard to get the sky the way it looks now. it was inspired by some of the overcast we have been having recently. that rainy atmosphere is something i love so much,i really wanted to incorporate it, i have not seen (or at least played) a game incorporates it well.
was also trying to practice incorporating a sense of scale and awe
Created the grass assets, made the ground texture have waves that move like as if the wind was moving grass. made a light function that makes the sun look like shadows were passing in front of it. spent way too long on the post processing, tried to make it look like an old CCD camera from the 2000's. made all of the buildings, windmills, ect,
the trees and ferns were from the central Florida pack on the u asset store.
